Data for Good Calgary Micro Project

A focused sprint to build analytics, create dashboards, and onboard new organizations.

Weeks 1-2: Foundation

Sprint Start
Technical Work
  • Define analytics schema (PostgreSQL)
  • Set up event tracking in Bot Army
  • Set up event tracking in Web Garden
  • Build data aggregation pipeline
  • Test with existing Keystone Hardscapes data
Outreach Work
  • Begin client outreach in Calgary
  • Compile outreach list (businesses, nonprofits)
  • Draft pitch materials
  • Schedule initial conversations

Deliverable

Data flowing from both platforms into analytics database. Outreach list compiled with 10+ prospects.

Weeks 3-4: Dashboards

Mid-Sprint
Development Work
  • Build client dashboard prototype
  • Design dashboard UI (simple, actionable)
  • Implement privacy controls
  • Test aggregation (no raw PII display)
  • Create client-facing demo
Onboarding Work
  • Onboard first new clients (1-2)
  • Set up websites or chatbots
  • Connect to analytics pipeline
  • Gather feedback on dashboard UI

Deliverable

Working dashboard with real client data. 1-2 new clients onboarded and using analytics.

Weeks 5-6: Polish & Present

Finalization
  • Build presentation dashboard
  • Complete client onboarding (target: 3-5 total)
  • Document privacy practices
  • Create handoff documentation
  • Polish client-facing materials
Presentation
  • Prepare final cohort presentation
  • Showcase real client dashboards
  • Share lessons learned
  • Discuss privacy handling approach
  • Present to Data for Good Calgary

Deliverable

Dashboards live for 3-5 clients. Privacy documentation complete. Final presentation delivered.
